 analysing the lyrics of Dave's song- Environment 

Rich v poor

Lyrics-Where I'm from, everybody wants to make it out
But nobody wants to see somebody make it out

meaning- Due to a lack of means and opportunity where Dave grew up which was within Streatham which is an area of London with an above average poverty rate, it is common for individuals from impoverished areas to aspire to succeed and eventually accumulate the means to move to a nicer area, or "make it out" of their locality

relation to music video- in a middle class (wealthy) environment, an individual has a high chance of means and opportunity in which everybody want's to see and nobody will feel threatened due to it unlike a poor area like Streatham where everybody wants to make it out but they do not have the means and opportunity to do so.

How I can put this in my music video- the aspect of the difference in means and opportunity in each environment could easily be depicted in the music video e.g. the middle class individual having life easy and many opportunities being thrown at him where as an individual from a poor environment it is the complete opposite and opportunities are hard to come by.

Lyrics-You see the deals and think all these rappers laughing now
But you don't get that if we weren't already, we're a target now

meaning- Dave mentions that people such as the audience might see all rappers having major deals behind them with luxury cars, jewellery, fancy homes etc., they see their lives as a lot more easy going than other people, or that rappers ‘laughing now’, because along the way, they may have dealt with people who told them they’ll be nothing in life. this however isn't the case for many in this kind of environment which Dave was brought up in. What the public do not realise is that there is much more to it due to the crab mentality that run through the minds of the individuals that are in the same environment which is defined as the these kinds of thoughts- if I can't have it, neither can you. This mentality creates a violent whirlpool as unless the rapper were already targeted by people who wanted to see their downfall and/ or death, the money. cars, etc, now give a reason for those people to go after those rappers and rob/ hurt/ kill them.

relation to my music video- the ideology of rich V poor is displayed within these lyrics and the definition behind them due to how in a wealthy, and well incomed family they would never have to face these issues due to the environment they are based within. For an individual that is grown up in a less inclined amount of wealth such as Streatham which is where Dave grew up, the environment is violent and shady such as Dave describes with in his lyrics.

How I can create this into a scene- A middle class individual wouldn't have to watch his back  due to others with a crab mentality.
