Auteur Theory

Zia Angar is a performance based director that bases her music around narration through dancing. The music video- Falling Water by Maggie Rogers in which she directed is an example of her auteur. However, what I want to take inspiration from is the use of lighting within the video and the mood it creates.Just over half way through the music video the lighting changes from a bright and vibrant lighting, to a darker and more of an energetic and quick pace outlook to the narration of the music video.

Taking Inspiration from Angar's auteur, I have a clearer idea of how I can use the variation of lighting and use it to my advantage by relating it to the moods of the different characters due to the mood each one gives out. The character that will be classed as the individual that objectifies itself with wealth will be shot in a bright lighting to signify the easiness they are living. The person that will be playing the poor character however will be in more of a dark and down lifting tone to symbolise that they don't live life in an easy fashion.
